Yes, the iPad microphone can be replaced. Only a third-party repair professional can replace the iPad microphone. Apple does not repair iPads but instead replaces the whole iPad for a fee. You can get your iPad replaced from the Apple Store if it’s under warranty.
The location and the number of microphones vary depending on the iPad model. For example, iPad Air has one microphone located next to the back camera. On the other hand, the iPad Pro 12.9-inch has five microphones; the first is next to the rear camera, the second is in the middle of the frame on the left, and three microphones are located at the top, near the front camera.
You can test your iPad microphone by using the built-in voice memos app. Open the app and speak into the microphone, then playback the recording, and you should hear your recorded voice.
