Go to Settings > General > Shut Down and tap on Shut Down
You will now see a slide to power off on your iPad screen. Likewise, you can now slide to shut down your iPad.
If your iPad volume buttons are not working, you can adjust the media volume through the control center. To open Control Center, swipe down from the top-right corner of your screen. You will see the media volume bar in the control center on the far right of the second row. It is a bar with a speaker icon. Tap and scroll up or down to adjust the media volume.
You can adjust the ringer volume in settings. Go to Settings > Sounds & Haptics > RINGER AND ALERTS. You can adjust the volume by sliding the small circle right or left.
